SHENZHEN, China, Apr. 9, 2020 -- With the increasing COVID-19 cases, the National Health Service (NHS) in the United Kingdom decided to set up temporary coronavirus field hospitals to accommodate its shortage of ICU beds. Thousands of EDAN’s patient monitors are adopted by NHS to installed in these hospitals. The first patch was sent to NHS Nightingale hospital located in London’s East End.
NHS Nightingale was formerly a conventional center called the ExCel Center. The venue became the biggest intensive care unit in the country in nine days. With 4,000 beds available for patients with COVID-19 solely, NHS Nightingale is expected to alleviate the strain on hospitals across the country.
